We deployed a Python-based scraping framework with rotating proxies to handle anti-scraping mechanisms and streamlined the massive scale of 50,000+ SKU monitoring across multiple marketplaces. The automated workflows eliminated manual tracking inefficiencies by establishing scheduled data collection cycles that processed thousands of product listings simultaneously.
To overcome the complex URL structures and varying listing formats across Amazon Business, Walmart Business, and Grainger, we developed marketplace-specific data extraction protocols. We created customized parsing logic for each platform's unique data presentation format, enabling seamless data collection regardless of structural differences. Additionally, we utilized Fuzzy Logic and NLP algorithms for precise product data matching and identification across platforms.
We leveraged advanced scraping logic to extract bundle pricing and promotional metadata from secondary page elements or popups and identify coupon codes, membership-only offers, and shipping cost variations that impacted the original final price. In addition to our custom scraping logic, we utilized third-party competitor price tracking solutions like Upstream Commerce and PriceManager to gain real-time visibility into competitor pricing.
We developed a modular data normalization pipeline that standardized scraped fields such as product titles, prices, availability, and promotions into a unified schema. With product titles, model numbers, and pricing data aligned into a standard structure, it became easier to link products across different marketplaces, reducing the chances of mismatches and errors.
Using Google Sheets and Power BI, we built dynamic dashboards for real-time data visualization and visibility into competitor pricing and trends. Custom alerts were set up to notify the client of significant price changes, enabling quick responses to market shifts.
While automated data scraping ensured efficiency, human oversight was crucial for maintaining the highest levels of data accuracy.
